Booth Museum Docent Class

Dear Paulding Retired Teachers Association,
I was wondering if you or any other retired educators you know might want to be in our upcoming Booth Museum Docent class this fall.
It starts September 18th at 6:00 pm with a dinner and an evening event in our theatre at 7:00 pm. The classes meet every Thursday from 9:30 - noon at the museum and go from September until December. The classes cover the artwork in our collection, some art history, materials and techniques, how to give tours, and background on our museum. Docents shadow tours and by the end of the class will be able to help give tours or volunteer at the museum in many different areas. Some of our docents help out only at our 2 big festivals during the year and others are at the museum every week. It all depends on the person and what they prefer. We appreciate all of our volunteers and docents and are always looking for more people to join our museum family.

Around December we plan a field trip to another museum and all docents in the class get to go free on our chartered bus. We will probably be going to the Georgia Museum of Art in Athens this fall.

If you are interested in being in the Docent class this fall or know someone who might be interested please let me know. Thanks.
